I tried out a new tecnique in PS today, starting with shading with grayscales-
And then creating an illuminating shade to the image by using an Overlay-layer+Multiply for base colors above. The result is show bellow.
The result is material with the same quality (if not better) than I'd do before with Normal-layers three times quicker! I really feel like I want to develop this further!

I really like the style! I think it would improve a lot if you tried changing the shadow colour though(grayscale layer) from black/grey to something more saturated. This is because shadows very seldom are a less saturated version of the main colour, eg. the skin of a human which holds many colours which make it vivid. The same goes for highlights, try using another hl colour than white and you will see interesting results :D Good luck and I really like looking through your stuff. <3
